The Breach
Matt: I’d long been a fan of 2001: A Space Odyssey and especially 2010: Odyssey Two by Arthur C. Clarke (and the subsequent films). In the 2010 film, we are taken to Jupiter where a crew heads to the remains of a derelict spacecraft. Jupiter as a backdrop is majestic and mysterious. Although our story, The Breach, will primarily be set on a colony on Luna, Earth’s moon, I knew I wanted some part of the story where Jupiter serves as backdrop. I wanted to showcase Jupiter’s Great Red Spot - that giant storm, twice the size of Earth, glaring at us with a red eye. That’s why we take you there now.
Khoi: For the art, I penciled this page on paper first, scanned it, and then added gray tones in Clip Studio. I think I was going for a European or old school sci-fi vibe. I also used Clip Studio for the words and word balloons. I’m a big fan of Esad Ribic’s work, and I think that comes through a bit. Anyway, without further ado, here’s episode 3 of The Breach!

The Chat page is set up! This is where you can go to chat with us and other members of the How To Comic community. This is also where you can share your work with all of us for honest and constructive feedback. Let’s talk and support one another as we all figure out how to comic.
